It’s finally here! After years in development THE PLAIN LANGUAGE BIG
BOOK – A Tool for Reading Alcoholics Anonymous has been published. The
book is available at Central Office, or you can order directly from aa.org.
This is the First Edition, First Printing of the PLBB, as it is commonly called.
I purchased one for myself for personal use and I purchased one as a gift for
my sponsor. I think he will enjoy reading it. I also purchased one as a gift
for my sponsee. Hopefully he can make use of it in his service to AA.
December is a month of giving. For your friends in AA, Grapevine has
many thoughtful ideas. Visit their site at: https://www.aagrapevine.org/store (and they have
free shipping in December).
December is also the time of receiving. When I think about the gift of sobriety in my life
many thoughts run through my brain. There were many years in my past when the gift of
sobriety was offered to me, but I was not willing to receive it. Now it’s a different story. I am
grateful every day to be sober. To keep it, I try to give it away to an alcoholic who still suffers.
The Grapevine Daily Quote for Nov. 16 sums it up for me today: “How wonderful to be
sober, to be able to think clearly (at times, at least), and to become aware of some portion of
the greater wisdom concealed so deeply within myself.”
