That means that our Area 56 Mini-Conference is right around the corner! Save the weekend dates, March 14,15 and 16, when we will be discussing and arriving at an “area-wide” group conscience about the new Proposed Agenda Items (PAIs). PAIs are sent in by individuals, groups, districts and areas of A.A. They are reviewed by the Trustees Agenda Committee and a preliminary list of Agenda Items for this year’s GSC was released. I forwarded the list to A.A. members in Area 56. Contact me if you have not seen it and I will send it to you.
Additional information, known as background information, will be sent out in the coming weeks. As Delegate, I will carry our area-wide group conscience to the 75th General Service Conference, held in the last week of April. During that week delegates from all 93 areas in the United States and Canada will arrive at a “conference-wide” group conscience. The goal is to reach substantial unanimity on the best course of action, for A.A. as a whole, on each and every Agenda Item. Please help me be an effective Trusted Servant for Area 56 by participating in our Mini-Conference this year!
At this time of year many groups rotate their Trusted Servants. Does your HomeGroup have a new Treasurer or General Service Representative (GSR)?
GSRs should attend monthly Area meetings.
Treasurers should report how your contribution, the money you put in the basket, was distributed. Those dollars pay rent for your group, and also make sure that the services provided by A.A. continue to function. Did you know that less than half of the groups in Area 56 contribute to the General Service Office (GSO)? Did you know that less than half of the groups in Area 56 contribute to Area 56? Let’s improve on that in 2025!
For additional information please see aa.org or aaarea56.org. Please contact me directly with any questions, ideas, opinions or concerns.
Service is where the fun starts!
