Greetings Area 56! Today I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan attending the ECR Conference combined with the 71st Michigan State Convention. It’s a gathering of 500 of my closest friends from the East Central Region (Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin). It is being held on the campus of Calvin University. I am staying in a dorm room for the weekend, eating in the cafeteria, and finding my way around campus to the main meeting center. We have had wonderfully informative panel presentations on many vital topics. During this event I receive a new infusion of energy for service to AA as a whole. Remember, we have our Ohio State Convention on Aug. 23, 24 and 25 in Independence, Ohio. Area 54 is the host this year. Register on their web site. Any AA member can attend. Do yourself a favor, plan to attend. It is only a few miles from the birthplace of AA in Akron, Ohio. What a wonderful way to spend a weekend! You will come away with an expanded feeling of gratitude for our Fellowship, and an increase in willingness to be a part of general service.
Service is where the fun starts!
